Valencia coach hails Sadiq Umar’s brace after Osasuna draw

By Wale Mustapha

Carlos Corberán, head coach of Spanish LaLiga side Valencia, has heaped praise on Nigerian striker Umar Sadiq following his impressive brace in their thrilling 3-3 draw with Osasuna on Sunday.

Sadiq scored twice in the encounter, taking his goal tally to three in just six appearances for Los Che.

The Super Eagles forward, who joined Valencia on loan from Real Sociedad in January, is steadily finding his rhythm at the club with his recent performances.

Corberán expressed his satisfaction with Sadiq’s work ethic and commitment since joining Valencia.

“Sadiq arrived very committed and eager to work. We are going to give him the confidence he needs to continue helping the team,” the coach said after the game.

With Sadiq’s continued development, Corberán is confident that the 27-year-old will become an even more formidable presence for Valencia moving forward.
