Victor Osimhen dedicates first goal of 2025 to billionaire twins

By Monsurah Olatunji

Nigeria international Victor Osimhen kicked off 2025 in style, scoring Galatasaray’s first goal of the year in their Turkish Süper Lig match against Göztepe.

The Super Eagles forward found the back of the net just 10 minutes into the game, converting a penalty to give his side an early lead.

After scoring, Osimhen revealed a personalized Galatasaray shirt with the message, “Happy birthday Tony and Toby,” dedicating his goal to the billionaire twins Tony and Toby Elumelu, who were celebrating their 10th birthday.

Galatasaray’s official social media account shared the moment with a caption that humorously read, “Not sure who they are, but happy birthday to Tony and Toby,” which quickly caught the attention of the Elumelu family.

Tony Elumelu, the billionaire businessman and chairman of the United Bank for Africa (UBA), responded with a simple clarification: “My boys.”

Osimhen’s gesture fulfilled a promise he made during his Christmas holiday in Nigeria, where he had pledged to dedicate his next goal to the twins.

This was confirmed by Tony Elumelu, who shared on social media, “Throwback to last week when @victorosimhen9 promised the T-Men to dedicate his next goal as their 10th birthday gift—and, as always, he delivered in style.”

Osimhen’s goal marked his 10th of the season in just 12 league appearances, bringing his total to 12 goals across all competitions as he continues to impress with his performances for Galatasaray.
