Victor Osimhen extra push scares Napoli manager Luciano Spalletti

By Saheed Afolabi
Napoli Coach, Luciano Spalletti has feared that the extra push by Victor Osimhen could result to injury when the Nigerian striker complained of not being able to give extra energy.
After scoring an important goal from a difficult angle against Sassuolo, Osimhen was substituted off in the 84th minute. Spalletti however, dismissed the injury fears, stressing that it wasn’t serious based on assessment.
“For what was assessed there straight away, it doesn’t look like anything special, just a bit of tiredness because he can’t spare himself,” the manager told media.
“When he has this urge to push, he stretches and does these runs where you don’t know where he’ll end up.
“He says he can hardly do it anymore and will go two metres, then those two metres become two hundred because he goes after everyone.”
Osimhen has scored 18 goals in 19 matches this season for Napoli as he’s only second to Erling Haaland (26 goals) in Europe top five leagues.
Napoli are top of the Italian Serie A with 62 points from 23 matches setting up a 18 points lead at the top of the table as second place Inter Milan have accumulated 44 points from 22 matches.
