Victor Osimhen is the best striker in the world — Remo Stars coach Ogunmodede

By Monsurah Olatunji

Remo Stars head coach Daniel Ogunmodede has hailed Victor Osimhen as “the best striker in the world right now” following the Napoli forward’s generous ₦10 million donation to the newly crowned Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) champions.

The Super Eagles star made the financial contribution in celebration of Remo Stars’ historic league title, dividing the gift equally between the club’s players and technical crew—₦5 million each.

The Ikenne-based club made history by becoming the first team from Nigeria’s Southwest region to win the NPFL title in 25 years, ending a drought dating back to Julius Berger’s 2000 triumph.

They also became the first privately owned club in over two decades to lift the trophy.

Speaking in a radio interview with Eagle 7 Sports Radio, Coach Ogunmodede expressed both surprise and gratitude for Osimhen’s gesture.

“I was surprised, of course. For a player of his calibre to take time out of his busy schedule and even offer financial motivation to my players is huge,” he said.

Ogunmodede used the moment to shower praise on the Napoli striker, declaring: “Victor Osimhen is the best striker in the world right now.”
