Galatasaray sealed the 2024/25 Turkish Süper Lig title on Saturday with a commanding 3-0 victory over Kayserispor at Rams Park, completing a domestic double and securing a record-extending 25th league crown.
The win also makes Galatasaray the first Turkish club to earn the right to display a fifth star on their badge, symbolizing 25 top-flight titles.
Nigeria’s Victor Osimhen opened the scoring in the 27th minute, rising above the defense to head home a Gabriel Sara corner.
It was Osimhen’s 36th goal in all competitions this season and his 25th in the league, giving him a three-goal cushion in the Süper Lig Golden Boot race with two matches remaining.
Just two minutes later, Galatasaray extended their lead through Barış Alper Yılmaz, who finished calmly after a precise through ball from Lucas Torreira split the Kayserispor backline.
The home side capped off their title-winning performance with a late penalty, awarded after Álvaro Morata was fouled in the box.
In a surprising show of sportsmanship, Osimhen—despite being the designated penalty taker and a frontrunner for the Golden Boot—allowed veteran goalkeeper Fernando Muslera to take the spot-kick.
Muslera converted confidently, scoring the final goal of the night.
The victory capped a dominant season for Galatasaray, who now turn their attention to a potential treble with a domestic cup final still to come.
