Nigeria striker Victor Osimhen has been cleared to return for Galatasaray’s UEFA Champions League clash against Eintracht Frankfurt on September 18, easing fears of a lengthy absence after his recent injury scare on international duty.

The 25-year-old limped off in the first half of Nigeria’s World Cup qualifier against Rwanda in Kigali and subsequently missed the high-profile clash with South Africa.

His early substitution raised concerns of a serious ankle problem, but Turkish journalist Haluk Yürekli reported via Spor Gecesi Digital that the issue is not severe.

Although Osimhen will sit out Galatasaray’s Turkish Super Lig game against Eyüpspor this weekend as a precaution, he is expected to be fully fit for the Champions League showdown in Germany.

Osimhen has been a pivotal figure for both club and country in 2025, spearheading Galatasaray’s title defence in Turkey while remaining central to Nigeria’s World Cup qualification campaign.

His imminent return represents a significant boost for the Istanbul giants, who will look to his goals and presence as they chase progress in Europe’s elite competition.
