Nigeria striker Victor Osimhen made an impactful return to action after serving his suspension, scoring twice to lead Galatasaray to a 2-1 victory over Rizespor in the Turkish Super Lig.

Following Galatasaray’s 4-1 defeat to AZ Alkmaar in the Europa League, Osimhen’s comeback was eagerly awaited.

The 26-year-old forward proved his value to the team, clinching the Man of the Match award for his stellar performance on Monday night.

Osimhen netted two superb-headed goals, guiding Galatasaray to a vital win over Rizespor, managed by compatriot Ibrahim Olawoyin.

The match started off at a slow pace, with neither team able to break the deadlock in the first half.

However, Osimhen quickly changed the course of the game, putting Galatasaray ahead early in the second half with a well-placed header.

Rizespor responded swiftly, equalising just seven minutes later, but Osimhen wasn’t done.

With the match nearing its conclusion, he headed home again, securing all three points for Galatasaray four minutes before the final whistle.

With this brace, Osimhen has now scored 14 league goals and contributed four assists in the current season, further cementing his status as one of Galatasaray’s most indispensable players.
