Victor Osimhen: Nigeria and Napoli striker named Serie A MVP by Transfermarkt

Red-hot Nigeria international striker Victor Osimhen, has been named the most valuable player in the Serie A league as his evaluation increased to €100 million, according to estimates from transfermarkt.

The 24-year-old becomes the ninth player in the Italian Serie A to surpass the nine-figure mark. He has 25 goals in all competitions, including 21 in Serie A, where he is the top scorer and Napoli leads the table with 18 points.

Although Osimhen has been attracting interest from Europe’s top clubs following his incredible performance for Napoli this season, the Neapolitans view Osimhen as their most-prized asset and have always maintained that he is not for sale.

The Nigerian still has two years left on his contract, having joined Napoli from Lille in 2020 for a club-record fee of €75.00m.

Should Osimhen decide to leave Napoli this summer, potential clubs will have to pay a fee above €100m for his services.

“Should Osimhen move in the summer, we estimate he will bring in a nine-figure sum, given his contract runs until 2025. Manchester United, Liverpool, and PSG are considered the hottest contenders for a transfer,” said Jatin Dietl, transfermarkt’s Regional Manager for Italy.
