By: Monsurah Olatunji
Victor Osimhen and his Serie A club Napoli are now just four points away from being crowned champions of Italy for the first time in 33 years after their 1-0 upset against Juventus.
After the victory in Turin, the Nigeria international insists that it is the turn of the Napoli fans to enjoy the benefits of loyalty as they edge closer to winning the Serie A.
“Dear Neapolitans, You Have Waited Long Enough! Now It’s Your Turn!!!,” he wrote on his official Twitter page before starting a live party celebration with his teammates and some fans on his Instagram page.
It was a tough contest but second-half substitute Raspadori scored in the late minutes of the match to help the Napoli side savage win against the Old Ladies.
The Naples team have previously scooped the Scudetto in the 1986/87 and 1989/90 seasons and Napoli are 17 points clear at the top of the standings with 78 points with just seven games to the end of the season.
However, it will be Osimhen’s first major trophy since he moved to Europe in 2016 as the Nigeria inter is the leading scorer in Serie A this season with 21 goals and is on the verge of claiming the golden boot.
However, he needs one more goal to set the record as the highest-scoring African Player ever in Italian Serie A.
A goal against Salernitana will earn him this accolade.
