Victor Osimhen reveals transfer conversation with Bright Osayi-Samuel

By Monsurah Olatunji

Nigeria international Victor Osimhen has addressed the rumors surrounding his conversation with fellow Nigerian player Bright Osayi-Samuel, following speculation that he tried to persuade Osayi-Samuel to join him at Turkish champions Galatasaray.

Osayi-Samuel, who has been in the Turkish league longer than Osimhen, is currently with Fenerbahçe, where his contract is set to expire at the end of the season.

The 27-year-old defender has reportedly turned down a contract extension from Fenerbahçe and is free to negotiate with other clubs ahead of the summer transfer window.

Despite this, Osayi-Samuel remains an important player for the Yellow Canaries, having made 157 appearances since joining the club from Queens Park Rangers in January 2021.

Amid rumors linking him to several clubs, including Osimhen’s Galatasaray, there were speculations that Osimhen might have played a role in influencing the move.

However, the Super Eagles striker has clarified that he did not discuss a potential transfer to Galatasaray with Osayi-Samuel.

“Osayi is my friend. We talk but not about this issue,” Osimhen stated in an interview with Habersarikirmizi, putting an end to the transfer rumors and confirming that their conversations have not revolved around any potential move to his club.

Osimhen, who joined Galatasaray on loan from Napoli last summer, has quickly established himself as a key player, while Osayi-Samuel continues to weigh his options for the future.
