Victor Osimhen set to extend Napoli contract till 2026 with hefty buyout clause

Newly crowned African Footballer of the Year, Victor Osimhen has reconsidered his future with Italian giants, Napoli and he’s set to extend his stay with the Serie A champions till 2026, nigeriafootball.ng reports.
The Super Eagles’ striker who joined the Partenopei two seasons ago from French club, Lille has been having a torrid moments with his employer this season after guiding them to first league title in 33 years last season.
The 24-year-old forward scored 26 goals with five assists to lead Napoli to the title.
He, however muting ambition to leave Diego Amando Maradona Stadium following a row with the team.
After much discussions with the club hierarchy, the Nigerian marksman has decided to extend his stay with the Naples club till 2026 which will also come with a pay rise in wages and as well raise his release clause to the region of €130 to €140m.
Both parties have agreed with the new terms and announcement will be made anytime soon, according to a strong source close to the club.
Osimhen returned to scoring form on his return from being crowned Africa’s best player of 2023 when Napoli played out a 1-1 against Braga in the last group stage match of the UEFA Champions League on Tuesday.
