Victor Osimhen set to receive ₦120 million goal bonus at Napoli

Nigeria international Victor Osimhen is set to earn additional €260,000 (₦120,000,000) if he scores thirty goals for Napoli this season.

The in-form Nigerian striker scored his 10th Serie A goal since the turn of the year as leaders Napoli stretched their advantage to 18 points after a 2-0 defeat of Empoli yesterday.

Osimhen’s goal was his 19th in the Serie A this season scoring in his last eight domestic league games and the 24-year-old joined Napoli for a club-record fee of €72million from Lille in 2020.

Arriving with high expectations, the striker struggled to deliver in his first season due to injuries after which the price tag pressure set in.

However this season, Osimhen has been instrumental in helping Napoli maintain their spot at the summit of the Serie A and winning the Scudetto for Napoli after a 33-year wait could be extra motivation for him.

However, his performance has never gone without reward as he already earned €130,000 (₦60,000,000) for reaching 20 goals this season.

According to La Gazzetta Dello Sport per Napoli Magazine, the Napoli star has a clause in his contract that will see him receive an extra €130,000 if he scores 25 goals, then another additional €130,000 if he scores 30 goals this season.

Osimhen became the first player to score in eight games in a row in a single Serie A season since Cristiano Ronaldo scored in 11 games in a row between December 2019 and February 2020.
