Victor Osimhen wins ₦1m MVP prize after hat-trick against Sao Tome and Principe

Ballon d’Or nominee Victor Osimhen star was at his ruthless best to ensure Nigeria finish on a high and top the group in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers on Sunday.
Nigeria wrapped up the 2023 African Cup of Nations qualifiers with a comfortable 6-0 victory against the Patriots of Sao Tome and Principe at Nest of Champions, Uyo, Akwa-Ibom state.
The Series A Golden Boot award holder scored one goal in the first half and added two more in the second to be named the most valuable player of the day.
The Napoli’s hitman was rewarded for his excellent performance with a huge prize of ₦1 million sponsored by MTN
The 24-year-old is now the country’s fourth all-time goal scorer with 20 goals. He also finished the qualifiers as the top scorer with 10 goals, 5 more than Senegal’s Sadio Mane in second place.
