Victor Osimhen wins Italian Serie A league goal of the month

Nigeria and Napoli forward, Victor Osimhen has won the Italian Serie A Goal of the Month award for January 2023.

Osimhen’s wonderful strike in the Partenopei’s 2-1 win against AS Roma at the Estadio Diego Armando Maradona last Sunday was massively voted by the fans.

Osimhen scored the first goal of the match when Kvaratskhelia’s cross into the box was superbly controlled by him – first with his chest, then his kneel before he unleashed a volley into the roof of the net as Napoli edged AS Roma. .

Osimhen, 23, has also been nominated for the Serie A Player of the Month for January.

The Nigeria international scored five goals in four league appearances for Luciano Spalletti’s side in the month.

Osimhen is currently the top scorer in the Italian top flight with 14 goals from 16 league games.

His goals have been instrumental in helping Napoli top the league table, opening a 13-point lead over Inter Milan.
