Victor Sochima optimistic of Rivers United victory against Etoile Filante

Rivers United goalkeeper, Victor Sochima is optimistic of victory against Etoile Filante in the CAF Confederations Cup second leg at the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium, Port-Harcourt.

The Pride of Rivers are prepared for the encounter against the Les Stellistes on Sunday and Stanley Eguma’s side must leave no stone unturned in their quest of defeating the Burkinabe side to reach the next round.

Ahead of the faceoff, the Super Eagles safe-hands urged his side to expect a difficult encounter and must win the game with the support of the passionate fans.

“We are all in high spirits, everyone is ready to go. We are prepared, we’ve put in the shift and we are working hard in the field of play to execute our game plan on Sunday,” Sochima told Rivers United media.

“Our coach has told us not to relent on the result we got there [in Yamoussoukro]; it’s going to be a different ball game here [in Port Harcourt]. So we’ll do everything to win.

“We have passionate fans here in River State and all of them believe in Rivers United as a club. They’ve tasted what it means to be champions.

“Come Sunday, they want us to play good football and win, I think we are capable of presenting such to them.”

The first leg between the two sides ended in a stalemate and the second leg will be an open affair for either of the teams to take.

Rivers United bowed out of the quarter final of the CAF Confederations Cup last season and will hope to surpass this feat.
