Vivian Ikechukwu opens goal account for Besiktas against Karagumruk

Nigeria forward, Vivian Ikechukwu in her second season opened her goal account for Besiktas as her team forced host, Karagumruk to a 1-1 draw in Turkish topflight women’s encounter on Saturday.

Besiktas had lost the league opener 2-1 to ALG Spor at home and needed to pick their first point of the league campaign.

It wasn’t a good start for the visitors as Ximena Velazco broke the deadlock for Karagumruk in the 35th minute.

The nightmare turned worse for Besiktas as the team were reduced to ten players in the 53rd minute.

With time running out for the visitors and another defeat beckoned, Ikechukwu salvaged a point for the team with the equaliser in the 85th minute.

The former Rivers Angels player joined Besiktas from the Lithuanian side, Ginthra and settling well in her second season with the Turkish team.

The draw ensured that Besiktas occupy the ninth position on the log with a point after two games.
