WAFU-B reveals Bayelsa Queens potential opponents

Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) Premiership Champions, Bayelsa Queens and six other league winners will participate at the 2025 West Africa Zone B WAFU-B Women’s Champions League Qualifiers in Cote D’Ivoire.

The Union of West African Football Federations (UFOA-B) has confirmed that the qualifying tournament for the 2025 CAF Women’s Champions League will take place in Yamoussoukro, Côte d’Ivoire, from August 23 to September 5, 2025.

The competition will feature seven champion clubs from the member nations of the UFOA-B zone, all vying for a coveted spot at the continental finals.

Participating Clubs include AS GNN (Niger Republic), host team; ASEC Mimosas (Côte d’Ivoire), Bayelsa Queens (Nigeria), Police Ladies (Ghana), Sam-Nelly FC (Benin Republic) ASKO (Togo), and USFA (Burkina Faso).

Bayelsa Queens is the only former winner at this year’s tournament after success in 2022.

The Prosperity Girls emerged as the first Nigerian team to win the competition before Edo Queens replicated the feat in 2024.

This year’s qualifiers promise to deliver high-quality football as the region’s top women’s teams compete for dominance and a place at Africa’s premier women’s club competition.
