‘We are trying very hard’ – Ilechukwu shares Plateau United target after Remo Stars draw
Technical Adviser of Plateau United, Fidelis Ilechukwu has revealed his side’s target for the 2022/2023 Nigeria Premier Football League season following a 1-1 draw with Remo Stars on Sunday.
Ibrahim Mustapha’s second half goal for the Peace Boys canceled out Segun Olalere’s first half effort for the hosts as both sides shared the spoils at Remo Star Stadium in Ikenne.

Reacting to the result, Ilechukwu who was pleased with the valuable point, lauded his players for the hard-fighting character put on display, while reiterating his side’s quest to finish among the final top three in Group A.
“Remo Stars have a very good team but I think we did better in the second half to earn the draw,” the former MFM gaffer told NigeriaFootball.ng.
“We prepare very well for this match because we know their quality and what they can do so I feel very happy to to get this point and being the first to do it here.
“We are trying very hard to make sure that we are in a comfortable position at the end of the first round, a position that will give us advantage of top three.”
When asked about their next fixture against struggling El-kanemi Warriors on Wednesday, he said: “Its another tough game for us, but we are going to prepare very well for it, knowing fully well El-kanemi are not in a very good position and they will want to play with all they got.
“We will work on our fitness to get better for the match as you know fatigue is telling on our boys, getting to this place (Ikenne) from Jos tell a lot on us but we will be ready for the next game.”
Plateau United are fifth on the Group A log with 11 points, just two away from Playoff spot jointly occupied by Remo Stars.
