‘We are worried about this’ – Aniekan Ekpe concerned about Dakkada’s form struggles

Dakkada star, Aniekan Ekpe has challenged his side to bounce back from their poor start to the season and but the Nigeria Premier Football League club’s captain is ”worried” about their form struggles.

The Uyo-based outfit suffered a 4-2 defeat to Abia Warriors last Saturday and the loss marked the team’s fourth straight defeat which saw kept them rooted at the bottom of the table.

Irked by his club’s situation, the 36-year-old has backed his side to enjoy a revival , while assuring that they will ensure the relagation escape to the Nigeria National League (NNL) at the end of the season.

“It’s a little bit difficult right now because we started well as a team but after our match with Rivers United, we don’t really know what went wrong. The team lost concentration,” Aniekan told Brila FM.

“We are worried about this. The entire team is worried. I just believe that we are going to come out of this because we have lost the last four games. It’s time to put our heads together and try to come back to winning ways. Then we can escape this relegation troubles.”

The Uyo-based side has lost its last four Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) games to Doma United (1-0), Rivers United (2-1), Enugu Rangers (1-0), and Abia Warriors (4-2) and with four points after six games, they seats at the bottom of Group B alongside Wikki Tourists.

Up next for the team is an  away clash against in-form Lobi Stars at the Aper Aku Stadium, Makurdi, with the hosts unbeaten in its last five games with four wins and a draw.
