‘We were not at our best against Abia Angels’ – Edo Queens coach Moses Aduku

Head coach of Edo Queens, Moses Aduku has expressed his disappointment over his side’s 1-0 defeat at home to Abia Angels on Thursday.
Nkechi Agams’ second half lone strike was all Ann Chiejine’s side required to condemn the Benin Arsenals their first defeast of the season at home at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium.
With the loss handing a devastating blow to the table toppers Edo Queens as the former Bayelsa Queens coach has reflected on the defeat, while admitting that they were not at their best against their visitors from Umuahia.
“It’s unfortunate the game went the way it was. Of course you know, sometimes the people that started the game are not bad players, they played well but we need to bring force into the game, that’s why we made that substitutions,” Aduku told media.
“It almost yield a goal but unfortunately we did not score but we had some opportunities that were denied. My brother, I don’t like talking about referees, I believe sometimes, they are human beings, they are not bad, it’s just that today was off, we didn’t score.
“Already if we had scored, it will be a 6 point difference but it’s only God that knows why, definitely we are looking at one or two players to come into the team as and see how it is.
“We are on 12 points, Adamawa Queens is on 9 points and we are going to be on bye for the last game of the first round, after the last game,we would really know how it is, let’s see how it goes.”
Edo Queens are leaders of the Group B of the NWFL Premiership abridged format with 12 points from six matches.
