“We were unlucky” – Tunde Sanni reacts to Kwara United defeat to Abia Warriors

Kwara United head coach, Tunde Sanni, expressed his disappointment following his side’s narrow 1-0 defeat to Abia Warriors in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) clash in Umuahia on Sunday.
A second-half strike from Sunday Megwo secured the win for Abia Warriors, handing Sanni his first loss since taking over at Kwara United.
The defeat was especially bitter for Sanni, who is a former coach of Abia Warriors, adding a personal dimension to the disappointing result.
“We were very unlucky with the loss to Abia Warriors,” Sanni said in a post-match interview. “We missed a lot of scoring chances, and that really reflected in the result.”
Despite the setback, Sanni remained optimistic about his team’s progress.
“We are getting closer to our best shape, and I believe we will perform better in our upcoming games,” he added. “We will go back to the drawing board and work on our finishing ahead of the next match.”
Kwara United will look to bounce back when they face Sunshine Stars in a midweek fixture on Wednesday.
