What Jay Jay Okocha said after Africa qualifying draws for 2026 World Cup

African football icon, Austin Jay Jay Okocha has aired his voice on the African qualifying draws for the 2026 FIFA World Cup that will be held in United States, Mexico and Canada.
The draws held in Abidjan, Cote d’Ivoire on Thursday pitched Nigeria’s Super Eagles in Group C with South Africa, Benin Republic, Rwanda, Lesotho and Zimbabwe..
Okocha who was among the legends invited by CAF to grace the draws said African countries must strive to emulate Morocco’s feat at the 2022 mundial.
The Atlas Lions made history in Qatar as they reached the semi-final beating countries like Spain and Portugal along the way.
Okocha said: “Morocco showed that an African country could win the World Cup! We must follow the example of Morocco.”
Okocha featured in the three FIFA World Cups (1994, 1998 and 2002) before retiring from the game.
