William Troost Ekong, Samuel Kalu shine as Watford compound Wigan woes

Two of Super Eagles’ players, William Troost Ekong and Samuel Kalu were in action for their Championship side, Watford on Saturday as they grind out inspiring 1-0 win at Wigan.
The Hornets seem to rediscovered mojo under new manager Slaven Bilic as they confirmed that at DW Stadium with a late goal from Joao Pedro who headed past the keeper with just three minutes to end the game.
Super Eagles’ captain, Troost Ekong played the entire duration as he formed a rock solid defense pairing with Chilean Fransisco Sierralta to keep out pressure from their hosts.
His national compatriot, Samuel Kalu was a second half substitute and he made a meaningful impact especially with the build up to the wining goal.
There were however no time for appearances for two other Super Eagles’ continent at Watford, Ifeanyi Okoye and Tom Dele Bashiru as they sat out of the match as substitutes.
The valuable points has pushed Watford up to seventh on the log with a just a point from playoff place.
