Women’s World Cup 2023: Time and where to watch Nigeria vs Canada

By Monsurah Olatunji
Nigeria open their Women’s World Cup assignment against Olympic Champions Canada on Friday at the Melbourne Rectangular Stadium.
Coach Randy Waldrum’s ladies are in Group B, alongside co-host Australia, Olympic champions Canada, and debutants Ireland.
While Canada has participated in every World Cup final since missing the 1991 event, the Super Falcons have attended all nine editions of the tournament.
The Canadians are ranked 7th in the world coming into their opening match of the tournament so they will be hoping to pick up all three points in emphatic fashion against Nigeria who sit 40th in the world rankings
Canada posses a massive threat to the Super Falcons owing to their quality squad that is known for flair and ruthlessness in front of the goal.
However, the Super Falcons can take some encouragement from their 2-2 draw with the Olympic Champions in Victoria City in February 2022, which was their last meeting.
SuperSports and AfroSports TV have already confirmed that they will broadcast live signals from the Melbourne Rectangular Stadium on Friday.
The Super Falcons’ match against Canada kicks off at 3.30 a.m., so Nigerians will need to stay awake to cheer their ladies on.
