World Cup: FIFA confirm paying member associations participation and players bonuses

FIFA have attested to paying players bonuses to football federations that participated at the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup.
For the first time in the Women’s World Cup history, the world football governing body had promised to give the national team players in the group stage a whopping $30,000 each and the money increases as teams progress in the tournament.
Confirming the payment of the World Cup bonuses to the Participating Member Associations (PMA), NigeriaFootball understands FIFA had already disbursed the money to the countries that participated at the mundial.
She said, as part of efforts in ensuring the money gets across to the players, FIFA had provided a tailored support to the PMA to create a smooth distribution process.
“Following the conclusion of the Women’s World Cup, FIFA is in contact with the participating member associations (PMAs) regarding the distribution of payments for the tournament, including the record prize money that will be provided by FIFA,” the statement said
“As part of this, FIFA is providing tailored support to PMAs regarding the distribution of payments that are being made, including to the member association and subsequently to players.”
Teams that exited the World Cup in the group stage will see their players getting $30,000 each, while reaching the knockout stage will see the money doubled to $60,000 each to the players.
The Super Falcons were eliminated in the round of 16 of the World Cup after loosing to England through penalty shootout. Thus, the players are entitled to $60,000 each for reaching the knockout stage.
