Manchester City captain Fernandinho made broke a Premier League record in their 4-0 win over Leeds United on Saturday.

The midfielder who has barely played this season scored the fourth goal in the game in a clash that saw him make his 260th Premier League appearance. The outing means he has played more games in the competition than any other Brazilian.

The 36-year-old who has spent nine seasons at City came off the bench in the second half to replace Rodri. In his time at the Etihad, he has won four Premier League titles, one FA Cup, and a record six League Cups.

His 260 Premier League appearances move him ahead of compatriot Willian, who played 259 times during his spells with Chelsea and Arsenal.

And his 184 wins are by far the best by any Brazilian in Premier League history – 36 more than Willian, who sits second with 148 victories.
