2024 National Sports Festival: Flamingos reach final, to face Team Delta

Nigeria U-17 girls will jostle for the gold medal at the 2024 National Sports Festival women’s football event.

The Flamingos edged host, Team Ogun, 1-0 in the semi-final to book a date with Delta in the grand finale.

Shakirat Moshood scored the winning goal for the national team from the penalty spot with minutes to the end of the game.

Their next opponent in the final, Team Delta, thrashed Team Osun 4-1 in the second last-four clash.

The third-place match between Tea Ogun and Osun will take place at the Remo Stars Stadium.

The final, which will see Flamingos against Team Delta, will be held at the MKO Abiola Sports Complex, Abeokuta.

The Flamingos are taking part in the 22nd National Sports Festival at Invited Junior Athletes (IJA), an initiative of the National Sports Commission (NSC) to ensure competitiveness between experienced and young athletes on a level playing ground.
