Nigeria’s senior women’s national team will start their journey towards making it to the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup in October 2025.

This will be in the qualifiers for Morocco 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON).

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) conducted the draw for WAFCON 2026 Qualifiers in Cairo, Egypt, on Thursday alongside the U-17 and U-20 FIFA Women’s World Cup Qualifiers.

Super Falcons will face either neighbors Benin Republic or Sierra Leone in the Second Round of the Qualifiers.

Benin Republic and Sierra Leone will face off in the First Round billed for February 2025.

The nine-time African champions’ Second Round clash with either Benin Republic or Sierra Leone is scheduled for October 2025.

The winner of the two-legged tie will qualify for Morocco 2026 WAFCON, which also serves as a qualifier for the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup.

The top four teams from Africa at the end of WAFCON 2026 will qualify for Brazil’s 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup.
