Joy Omewa nominated for WSL2 March Player of the Month

Nigerian forward Joy Omewa has been nominated for the Barclays Women’s Super League 2 (WSL2) Player of the Month award for March, following a series of impressive performances for Nottingham Forest Women.

The 23-year-old striker is one of four players shortlisted for the award, alongside:

Emily Murphy (Newcastle United)

Aimee Everett (Crystal Palace)

Lucy Ashworth-Clifford (Ipswich Town)

The nomination recognises standout performances across March in the Barclays Women’s Super League 2, with fans given the opportunity to vote for the winner. Voting is open until mid-April, after which the winner will be announced.

Omewa, who joined Nottingham Forest in early 2026, has continued her rapid rise in European football. Prior to her move to England, she enjoyed a prolific spell in Denmark, where she emerged as one of the league’s top forwards.

Her latest nomination further highlights her growing influence at club level and reinforces her status as one of Nigeria’s most promising attacking talents.
