3SC beat Crown to clinch maiden Seyi Makinde Pre-season Tournament title

Shooting Stars defeated Crown FC of Ogbomosho to emerge the winner of the first edition of Seyi Makinde Football Volunteer Movement on Sunday.
Second half substitute, Azeez Akintunde netted two goals in the 60th and 82nd minutes to fire Shooting Stars to a 2-0 victory at the expense of their state rivals.
Having seen forwards Bala Akintunde, Malomo Taofeeq and Ayo Adejubu missed scoring chances at the first half, Akintunde took matters into his own hands and gave the Ibadan Soccer Lords the opener at the 64th minute.
New signing Akintunde inspired attack from middle with a solo run before finding the back of the net from the edge of the box to hand Shooting Stars the important lead on hour mark.
In the 82nd minute, the Ibadan born attacking midfielder was unleashed by a fine Ajani Ibrahim through-ball and made no mistake in dispatching past Crown FC goalkeeper Adeniyi Adejare from a tight angle to give 3SC a deserved win.
The Gbenga Ogunbote led team look ready for the 2022/23 Nigeria Professional Football League season.
