Dada and Aiida to Grace the Stage: Hosting CAF Awards 2023 in Marrakech

Esteemed Moroccan media figure Ouadih Dada and accomplished international host Sophy Aiida from Cameroon are set to co-host the CAF Awards 2023 in Marrakech, Morocco, on Monday, December 11.
The dynamic duo will take center stage for this prestigious annual event, dedicated to honoring Africa’s finest talent from December 2022 to November 2023 in the women’s category and November 2022 to September 2023 in the men’s classification.
Dada, Chief Editor at 2M – Morocco’s primary television channel and author of “Dans l’oeil du lion” (In the eyes of the lion), expressed his excitement about hosting the CAF Awards in his homeland, Marrakech. Speaking to CAFOnline.com, he shared, “Marrakech has been through significant challenges since the earthquake in September, and to welcome and celebrate Africa means a great deal to us as a community.”
Hailing from the town of Bhalil in the heart of Morocco, Dada is a prominent figure in Moroccan media, eager to infuse the event with the essence of his country’s rich culture.
Reflecting on Morocco’s recent success, particularly their historic run to the FIFA World Cup semifinals in Qatar last year, Dada noted, “To be here a year later with the opportunity to celebrate this achievement at the CAF Awards is a historic moment for me and our country.”
This marks the second consecutive year that Morocco hosts the prestigious CAF Awards, following last year’s event in Rabat.
Sophy Aiida, known for her on-stage brilliance, expressed her delight at being in Marrakech, highlighting the personal connection she feels to the city’s architecture resembling her villages back home in Cameroon. She also acknowledged the resilience of Marrakech after the recent earthquake, emphasizing the warmth and strength of its people.
The CAF Awards 2023, set to take place at the Palais des Congrès in Marrakech at 1800hrs GMT, promises to be a vibrant celebration of African excellence, with Dada and Aiida poised to bring their unique energy to the grand event.
