Nigeria midfielder Toni Payne is gearing up for the challenges ahead at the 2024 Paris Olympics.
As the Super Falcons prepare for their opening game against Brazil, Payne has acknowledged the difficulty of the task but remains confident in Nigeria’s ability to secure a positive result.
In an interview with NFF TV, Payne praised the team’s training camp in Spain, noting its similar weather conditions to Paris, which aids their preparation.
“The training camp is going really well. I feel comfortable here. It’s a bit hot, but I think this is the perfect place to get ready for the Olympics,” Payne told NFF TV.
Payne, known for her midfield mastery, described Brazil as a formidable opponent.
“Brazil will be a tough team, they are very talented, but as Nigeria, we are at that level, so it’s going to be a good match, and I think we can get a good result against them,” she stated.
The Stade de Bordeaux will host the Super Falcons’ opening game at the Olympics against Brazil on July 25. Payne expressed her excitement about competing on the world stage once again.
“Being able to compete at the world stage again with this team is such a really good opportunity. I’m really excited,” she added.
With the team’s preparation in full swing and spirits high, the Super Falcons are determined to make a strong impression at the Olympics, starting with their crucial match against Brazil.
