Nigeria forward, Mercy Idoko will be playing for Portuguese women’s top-flight side, Racing Power for another season.

The former Nigeria youth international extended her contract with the Poruguese team after a fantastic debut season in the Portuguese women’s top flight.

In her first season with the Club, she scored six goals and provided three assists in 32 games.

Her performances were crucial in leading the team to the Portuguese women’s Cup final against her compatriot, Christy Ucheibe’s SL Benfica.

She played for Nigeria Women’s Football League (NWFL) Premiership side, Nasarawa Amazons before moving abroad.

At the national team level, Idoko was part of the Nigeria U-20 side that reached the quarter-final of the 2022 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup.

She played all four games for Christopher Danjuma’s side against France, South Korea, Canada, and the Netherlands bagging an assist in the process.

Her talent attracted the interest of the then newly promoted Racing Power resulting in her switch to the team.
