MLS: Nigerian defender excited with debut win with FC Cincinnati

Nigeria defender, Chidozie Awaziem has expressed his pleasure with making a winning start to life with his new club, FC Cincinnati. 

Awaziem made his debut for Cincinnati in the Leagues Cup clash with Querétaro on Saturday. 

Patrick Noonan’s side won the encounter 1-0, ending a three-game losing streak.

The Super Eagles’ centre-back who was in action for the entire duration of the game hailed his team mates for their resilience just as he urged them on for more victories. 

“It feels amazing. It feels great to be part of this wonderful club. I’m excited and happy that we came out with the three points,” he told the club’s official website.

“Honestly, I didn’t feel there was any need for me to go out because I wanted to help the team more. 

“I was feeling good, so I felt that there was no point going out to the bench.”
