Former Chelsea forward Álvaro Morata has expressed his excitement about playing alongside Victor Osimhen after the Nigerian striker scored a late winner to secure Galatasaray’s 2-1 victory over Alanyaspor on Sunday.
Osimhen’s header in the 82nd minute marked his 17th league goal for the Istanbul giants, extending their lead at the top of the Super Lig to seven points, although closest challengers Fenerbahçe still have a game in hand.
Morata, who has had stints at top clubs such as Chelsea, Real Madrid, Juventus, and Atlético Madrid, brings valuable experience and skill to Galatasaray’s attack.
The partnership between the Spanish striker and Osimhen has already shown signs of promising chemistry, with both players eager to increase their goal tally and contribute to the team’s title charge.
Speaking after the match, Morata was full of praise for Osimhen, particularly for his level of play.
“It was incredible to play with him,” Morata said, according to NtvSpor.
“He is a very experienced player. He is at a very advanced level as a team player. I am happy to play with him. We want to have a season-end where he and I score goals.”
As the duo continue to build their partnership, Galatasaray fans are hopeful that their combined efforts will propel the team to a successful finish in the Super Lig.
