Moses Aduku emphasizes the importance of commitment and dedication, commending the government for its support.
The head coach of Edo Queens, Moses Aduku, has urged players, coaches, and support staff of the club to demonstrate complete commitment for the team to succeed in the upcoming season.
In a speech to the team following a 2-0 loss to Nasarawa Amazons in the semi-final of the 2025 President Federation Cup championship, which took place last Saturday at the Prince Abubakar Audu University Sports Complex in Anyigba, Kogi State, the tactician from Bayelsa expressed his disappointment regarding the team’s elimination from the tournament, noting that the defeat was primarily due to their performance in the second half.
Nevertheless, he expressed gratitude for concluding the season without any significant distress. He also praised the Executive Governor of Edo State, Senator Monday Okpebholo, the head of the Sports Commission, Hon. Enabulele Desmond, his board members, the coaching staff, players, support personnel, and all football stakeholders in the state for their unwavering support.
“First and foremost, we must give thanks to Almighty God for allowing us to finish the season without any tears. Although we did not secure the NWFL premiership title or a spot in the President Federation Cup final, as a team, we should be grateful for all that God has done for us at Edo Queens. While it is true that we ended the season without trophies, I believe that better days are on the horizon. Edo Queens will achieve success next season.”
“Well done, girls, you fought valiantly, but as your coach, I must remind you that we lost this match to Nasarawa Amazons due to our shortcomings. In the first half, we dominated the game and had numerous opportunities to win, yet we failed to capitalize on our chances.”
“As we prepare for the next season, we must be ready to exhibit total commitment, discipline, dedication, and respect for established authorities. Our previous failures stem from this lack of commitment; we cannot afford to repeat this next season. The only path forward is for us to recommit ourselves to our responsibilities in our respective roles.”
