Water FC CEO MK Visits NOC President Habu Gumel, Reaffirms Commitment to Grassroots Sports Development

The Chief Executive Officer of Water FC, Makanjuola Nureni (popularly known as MK), paid a courtesy visit to Nigeria Olympic Committee (NOC) President, Alhaji Habu Gumel, at his Abuja office, reaffirming his commitment to grassroots sports development.

The visit followed MK’s recent recognition as one of the 100 Most Influential Individuals in Nigeria at the 2025 Progressive Awards. During the meeting, MK praised Alhaji Gumel’s leadership within the International Olympic Committee (IOC) and expressed gratitude for his contributions to Nigerian sports.

In response, Alhaji Gumel commended MK for his dedication to youth development through football, urging him to continue championing the growth of grassroots talent. Under MK’s leadership, Water FC has emerged as a premier youth football academy, producing players for Nigeria’s U-17 and U-20 national teams and investing in training infrastructure and scouting.

Their meeting highlighted a shared vision for advancing sports in Nigeria, with an emphasis on talent identification, development, and global representation.
