Ashanti Kotoko head coach Abdul Karim Zito says his team must score plenty of goals when they host Kwara United in Sunday’s CAF Confederation Cup preliminary round first-leg clash.
The Porcupine Warriors welcome the Nigerian side to the Accra Sports Stadium, with Zito stressing that a commanding victory at home will ease the pressure in the return leg.
“We are working on our attitude and approach. Now that we are going to play at home, we have to overcome them with a lot of goals to make it easier when we go to Nigeria,” Zito told ACLSports at his pre-match press conference.
“They will also try to stop us from scoring, so it’s important we make our chances count. We are not underrating anybody in this competition. I am optimistic about a win on Sunday, Inshallah.”
Kotoko booked their spot in the Confederation Cup after winning last season’s Ghana FA Cup. Sunday’s tie will kick off at 4 p.m. Nigerian time.
