Majin Mohammed Frustrated as Niger Tornadoes Held by Kano Pillars

Majin Mohammed, Technical Adviser of Niger Tornadoes F.C., has expressed disappointment after his side settled for a goalless draw with Kano Pillars F.C. in their Matchday 30 clash in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL).

The encounter, played at the Bako Kontagora Stadium, saw both teams push hard for maximum points as they continued their battle to move clear of the relegation zone.

The match also represented the second game in a three-match ultimatum issued to Majin, and his players showed urgency from the start as they searched for an early breakthrough.

Niger Tornadoes came closest to scoring on two occasions. In the first half, Ahmadu Liman rattled the woodwork with a powerful long-range strike. Later in the second half, substitute Kufre Ebong thought he had found the winner, but his effort also struck the upright late in the game.

Despite failing to find the back of the net, the Ikon Allah Boys dominated large spells of the match and restricted Kano Pillars to only a handful of clear opportunities.

Speaking after the game, Majin described the result as frustrating.

“We knew it was going to be a difficult game because we defeated them in the first leg. We prepared well and wanted to win, but we were unlucky, hitting the crossbar on two occasions.”

The coach also acknowledged his team’s recent struggles in front of goal since the start of the second half of the season, noting that Niger Tornadoes have recorded just one win — against Enyimba F.C. — during that period.

“Before this game we spent the week working on different scoring techniques in training, but unfortunately we still couldn’t find the back of the net,” he added.

Niger Tornadoes will now shift their focus to another crucial home fixture against league leaders Rivers United F.C. as the battle to avoid relegation intensifies. Majin revealed that his team is already preparing a special tactical approach for the high-stakes encounter.
