NWFL Premiership: Osun Babes plot Royal Queens’ defeat in Ile Ogbo

Yekini Ayodeji, Head Coach of Nigeria Women’s Football League, NWFL Premiership side, Osun Babes has disclosed that his ladies are battle ready, fully fit to kick start the new season on a high note when they host Royal Queens on Wednesday.
The 2022/2023 NWFL Premiership season will finally get underway on Wednesday after series of postponement with Osun Babes FC hosting the Queens from Delta State at the Lanre Leke Stadium, Ile Ogbo.
The two teams last met in the Round of 16 of the AITEO Cup in Abuja where Royal Queens triumphed 3-2 over their hosts.
Coach Ayodeji who is just taking over one of the oldest women’s team in Nigeria expressed confidence that his team would start on bright note with a slight of revenge on their mind.
“Yes, it’s true we lost to them (Royal Queens) in the AITEO Cup but we have fine-tuned where the lapses are and besides that, this is a different ball game entirely. This is a league match and we know what is at stake.”
”Our girls are in fine form and they can’t wait to get the new season started. We are on a 5-match unbeaten run in the league from last season and we hope to continue the exceptional run into this season.”
”We have played series of friendly games and I can boldly tell you that we are going for glory.
“We are calling on our fans, supporters and all stakeholders to rally round the team in other to motivate the players for the task at hand.” Concluded Coach Yekin.
Osun Babes finished mid table on the league log last season failing to secure a place in the Super 6.
