FIFA Women’s World Cup trophy to hit Nigeria in March

The FIFA Women’s World Cup is set to land in Nigeria in March as part of the trophy tour across all 32 qualified countries.
It will be displayed in Nigeria on March 26, 2023, to the viewing pleasure of fans with the opportunity to take pictures with it.
The Trophy Tour begins this month and will visit all 32 of the tournament’s participating nations – more countries than ever before.
The tour is ‘Going Beyond’ to inspire people of all ages to get excited about the FIFA Women’s World Cup Australia & New Zealand 2023.
The tour’s Skills Drills will encourage women and girls worldwide to join the celebration by showcasing their footballing ability and creativity.
The trophy last visited the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja, Nigeria in 2019 ahead of the last tournament in France.
In 2019, the country home of the nine-time African champions, recieved former Nigeria international Osaze Peter Odemwingie, who was one of the FIFA Legends for the World Cup finals in France, along with three FIFA officials.
Then, some players of the Super Falcons, pupils from schools as well as media representatives, and other stakeholders are expected to be part of the event.
Apart from Nigeria, several countries will be part of the tour for the first time, including Colombia, Costa Rica, Denmark, Morocco, the Philippines, the Republic of Ireland, Switzerland, Vietnam, and Zambia.
The above countries will be making their debut appearance at the World Cup which will be co-hosted by Australia and New Zealand later this year.
