‘We have to do our jobs’ – Festus Austin backs Rivers United to shine in Angola

Ahead of Rivers United’s CAF Confederation Cup group stage clash with DC Motema Pembe of the Democratic Republic of Congo, captain Festus Austin says the team is focusing on getting the job done in Angola.
Rivers United started off with a 3-0 loss away in Congo against Diables Noirs before they eventually got their campaign back on track with a 3-0 win over Asec Mimosa.
The Nigerian champions departed Nigeria for Angola to face another Congolese opposition on Friday and the team’s skipper is confident that his side’s prospect of claiming the maximum points in the Southern African nation.
“We are going to Congo to do our best to pick three maximum points because we are targeting 12 points to qualify from the group stage,” Austin told Brila FM.
“We have lost one and won one game. This is the third game and it’s going to be a cracked one. We the players know what is at stake. We just have to do our jobs and remain positive. At the end, we are going to get it right on Sunday.”
Estadio 11 de Novembro Stadium, Angola named after the date of Angola’s independence, will host Sunday’s clash as DC Motema Pembe’s home ground wasn’t approved by the Confederation of African Football (CAF).
The multi-use stadium which serves as home is the league ground of three clubs; Primeiro de Agosto, Primeiro de Luanda, and Benfica de Luanda in Talatona Municipality at the Expressway surrounding Luanda in Angola.
