Rivers United land in Angola for Motema Pembe’s CAF Confederation Cup clash

Nigeria Champions and sole representative at the CAF Confederation Cup, Rivers United have arrived in Luwanda, Angola for Sunday’s group B encountere against DC Motema Pembe.
Players, officials, and other members of the contingent touched down at the Aeroporto Internacional 4 de Fevereiro Luwanda at exactly 12:20 pm local time on Friday onboard Ethiopian airline from the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja with stopovers in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
Meanwhile, Rivers United were given a rousing reception at the Aeroporto Internacional 4 de Fevereiro Luanda and treated to lunch at the embassy by the Nigerian ambassador to Angola, Her Excellency Professor Monique Ekpong.
The Nigerian contingent was received by the representative of the Nigeria Ambassador to Luanda, consular staff, and some members of the Nigerian community in Luanda.
Rivers United will confront DC Motema Pembe on Sunday, February 26 at the Estádio 11 de Novembro stadium in Talatona (near Luanda), Angola.
With three points after two points, Stanley Eguma’s side seats in second position, a point behind Diables Noirs of Congo. A 3-0 loss to Diables Noirs was followed by 3-0 won over Asec Mimosa of Ivory Coast last weekend.
