Emmanuel Osahon livid over Robo Queens’ dismal performance at NWFL Super Six

By Wale Mustapha
President and Head Coach of FC Robo Queens, Emmanuel Osahon has expressed displeasure how his side fared at the title winning Nigeria Women Football League, NWFL Super Six playoffs in Asaba, Delta State.
The Lagos Landladies fell to a slim 1-0 defeat to holders Bayelsa on Wednesday which means they failed to register a point and even a goal in the competition haven lost 2-0 to Rivers Angels in their opening match on Tuesday.
The sole proprietor of the Lagos based club blamed inexperience for the disappointing show at the Playoffs just as he hoped the club step up to subsequent challenges by next season.
“Its very unfortunate that we will end it this way, not that we didn’t play well, you can see were the one doing the playing and they were scoring, same thing with previous game (vs Rivers Angels), its just sad,” Osahon told Nigeriafootball.ng.
“May we they were not matured enough because its not what they were taught they did, we are heading home from here to assess ourselves for the season,” he said.
Asked what were the lessons learned from the season for Robo Queens and plans to get even better by next season, Osahon said: “I am not happy with how it ended, you win, draw and lose in football but like this, I’m not happy about it.
“I am a one-man team, I don’t buy players because I don’t have the money, I pick and develop, hopefully we will see how to make them much better by next season.”
FC Robo Queens finished second in Group A behind Edo Queens in the regular season but they will still wait to lift their first major trophy in women’s league despite boasting of superstar products like Asisat Oshoala, Rasheedat Ajibade, Monday Gift among other notable top footballers.
