Naija Ratels gets new management

Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) Premiership side, Naija Ratels have unveiled a new set of management following the resignation of ex chairman, Barrister Paul Edeh.

This new development was triggered following the departure of Barr Edeh to contest the position of Benue FA chairman which he eventually won election in June.

Mrs Eneh Alison James-Jegede has been appointed as the chairperson of Naija Ratels, Miss Chisom Ikegwuonu will serve as the director of administration and finance/vice chairman, Ikenna Okonkwo (Director of Media and Publicity), Mr Abraham Adeka (Director of Operations) and Coach Bankole Olowookere remains the Technical Adviser of the club.

The One Day At A Time founder, Barr Edeh urges the players to corporate with the new management of the club because they are experienced administrators who are specialist in women’s football business.

“From now, there is going to be recalibration in Naija Ratels. This is because a crop of experienced administrators who understand the business of women football will be administering the club moving forward,” Edeh was quoted by BSN Sports.

“I’m happy that the Club is transiting beyond me and transiting to a new phase because like its often said, success without successor is failure in disguise. At some point, every entity needs fresh initiatives.

“The person who is taking over from me and those in the Management composition are seasoned professionals in their various fields. They have international experience in both football and other aspects of management.”

Naija Ratels had a great run in their first season in the NWFL Premiership by qualifying to the Super Six in Benin at the expense of a more experienced Confluence Queens.

The club couldn’t replicate their feat in their second season as Rivers Angels beat them to the spot to qualify for the 2023 Super Six in Asaba.
