Deborah Abiodun opens Pittsburgh University goal account against Bucknell Bison

Nigeria midfielder Deborah Abiodun opened her goal account for the University of Pittsburgh women’s soccer team as her side thrashed Bucknell Bison 5-0.
Samiah Phiri sank the ball into the back of the net for Pitt to take a 1-0 lead. Anna Bout completed the second goal with assists from Sofia Doheny and Ashley Moon.
Sarah Schupansky secures Pitt’s third goal just before the end of the first half. In the 59th minute, Abiodun headed in her first collegiate goal off of Keera Melenhorst’s assist.
Schupansky secured her second goal of the game from a penalty kick in the 72nd minute. The former Rivers Angels captain earned her second goal contribution for the team after bagging an assist as her new club defeated Dexel in the previous game.
Before her red card against Canada in the opening Group B game of the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup, Abiodun put up a superb display for the Super Falcons and will hope to return to the team for their next national engagements after completing her suspensions for Nigeria.
