2024 U20 Women’s World Cup qualifiers: Tanzania get Nigeria third round date

The Tanzanian U-20 side will face their Nigerian counterparts in the third round of the 2024 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup Qualifiers.
The East African side thrashed Djibouti 7-0 in the return leg of the second-round clash on Wednesday.
The first leg had ended 5-0 in favour of Tanzania ahead of the return leg putting them in a comfortable position.
Two goals each from Winfrida Gerald and Jamila Rajabu lifted the team to a dominant 7-0 win.
Diana Mnali, Zainabu Mohamed, and Yasinta Mitoga scored a goal each to seal a 12-0 win on aggregate.
With the win, Tanzania will face Nigeria in the third round of the qualifying series.
The Falconets were to face Mauritius in the second round before the latter’s withdrawal from the qualification series.
Nigeria reached the quarter-final of the last FIFA Women’s U-20 World Cup and has gotten to the final of the tournament twice, both losing to Germany.
