The duo of Victor Osimhen and Kelechi Iheanacho have been ruled out of Nigeria’s international friendly match against Mozambique on Monday.
The Super Eagles will wrap up their preparatory games against the Mambas and will be hoping to up the ante with their performance as against Saudi Arabia last Friday.
Unfortunately, both Napoli and Leicester forwards will not be part of the match on Monday due to different reasons.
Both players left the team’s training camp in Portugal for their respective bases on Saturday.
Osimhen suffered a hamstring injury in the second half of Nigeria’s 2-2 draw with the Green Falcons and was subbed off for Terem Moffi.
Coach Jose Peseiro disclosed after the match that Eagles’ Number Nine will be going for an MRI scan on Sunday to determine the extent of the injury.
In contrast to Iheanacho who had an outstanding outing against the Saudis on Friday, he was allowed to leave to attend to family issues.
It is however becoming a reality that the trio of Victor Boniface, Terem Moffi and Sadiq Umar will be favored to start against Mozambique.
Meanwhile, it is looking increasingly possible that Enyimba captain, Olorunleke Ojo should be available for selection against Mozambique.
The goalkeeper arrived in Portugal Friday night, trained with the Super Eagles squad on Saturday.
