Nigeria artist Reminisce claims Qatar 2022 World Cup was rigged in Messi favour

By Monsurah Olatunji

Nigerian rapper and actor, Reminisce has offered his opinion on the GOAT debate between Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi that has been going on for decades in the world of football.
Like former Netherlands boss Louis Van Gaal, Reminisce is also of the sentiment that Messi winning the World Cup was predetermined, as the circumstances that led to his triumph were, in his opinion, contentious.
Speaking in Yoruba on the Zero Conditions podcast, Reminisce claimed that just like the Qatar World Cup, the MLS was set to be rigged in the Argentine’s favor, but destiny had other plans.
Although, football fans can’t come to terms with who is the greatest of all time, and the rivalry between this duo has apologetically ignited unending arguments among the fanbases.
Meanwhile, Messi won the FIFA World Cup with Argentina in Qatar which was believed by some to have been rigged for the Inter Miami star, who is Ronaldo’s rival.
The two players have competed for both team and individual honors as iconic stars have 13 Ballon d’Ors between them, with Messi winning eight and Ronaldo five.
However, they have not battled against each other in the last few years as Cristiano moved out of Europe to pursue his trade in Saudi Arabia while Messi left France to join David Beckham’s American outfit Inter Miami.
The Nigerian celebrity started the conversation by saying, “I’m a Ronaldo fanboy” which gave context to his beliefs about Messi’s recent achievements.
“World Cup yen, it was a well-written script,” he said.
He then went on to praise his choosing GOAT, Cristiano Ronaldo, “dedicated, no hobby, no side hustle, no tattoo…play ball. Wake up, play ball, sleep, play ball.”
