Nigerian hip-hop artist and actor, Remilekun Abdulkalid Safaru has shed light on the state of football punditry and how it influences fans thinking.
Besides music and acting, Reminisce is also a football pundit, with a radio show on popular sports station, Brila FM and has pointed out how pundits influence the narrative of the fans siting Manchester United as a reference.
“I always tell people if you want to watch the EPL, try not to watch the British pundits, watch the proper European guys or the Arabic guys,” he said on the Zero Conditions podcast.
“These guys will legit make you believe Harry Maguire is a better defender than Van Dijk.
“These guys legit told us De Gea is the reason United is not playing the type of football they should play, they legit told us Ronaldo cannot press, that Ronaldo is the problem but ‘Man U’ have not pressed in one single game since Ronaldo left.
“Ronaldo could not press, has Rashford pressed? I’m not saying Ronaldo can press, what I’m saying is you do not say the team is playing badly or poorly because Ronaldo cannot press, now Ronaldo has left, nobody is pressing.
“This is a team that scored less than 53 goals, the same amount of goals as Brentford, Aston Villa…bla bla bla… Wolves.”
